I love the name Lily as it has a gentle sound and lilies are my favourite flowers. My granddaughter is called Lily, and my name is Susan, which also means Lily, so we have the same name.

I love the name Lily - it's really complex, yet also extremely short and simple. I also love the name Nari, which is a Korean name that means Lily. I hate the variation Lilly, because it just looks wrong to me. Lillie isn't that great to me, either. But Nari and Lily are just wonderful. I also have always disliked the name Lillian - my younger sister is named Lila (pronounced Ly - lah), and it seems like every kid she knows but isn't close with is named Lillian. Lilian is nice - but something about the name Lillian never felt right to me. A close friend of mine, however, has a cousin named Lilyen, and I just love that so much! It's a Chinese spelling, I'm told, and when it's said out loud something about it is so different and more magical than Lillian. I also feel like Lily is one of those names that could fit so many people. Also, Lilyen has two sisters - Lorien and Lucia, which are also very nice names.

I named my daughter Lily. I cannot think of a more pure and beautiful girl name! My Lily is full of life and happiness. Her name fits her well. Also, all ages seem to like her name and her name does not seem as popular compared to a few years ago!
