This means that a name can rank highly Worldwide because of strong representation across several regions, even when it is not ranked #1 within an individual country. The Worldwide list therefore provides a broader view of international name popularity, while the country columns show how those names perform within each regional dataset.
Ranking Years and Data Availability
The year shown in each column identifies the latest year currently used for that region's ranking. The ranking years are not always identical because official baby-name datasets are released on different schedules.
The current table uses 2025 data for Worldwide, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, while Canada's latest available ranking data is from 2024. The 2024 Canadian data is retained because accuracy and official availability take priority over forcing every region to use the same calendar year.
The rankings should therefore be interpreted as comparisons of each region's latest reliable available data, rather than as a perfectly synchronized snapshot from one single year.
What the Rankings Show
