What Are Modern Baby Names Explained

This index identifies Modern baby names whose recorded usage is strongly concentrated in the recent era. Rather than treating every currently popular name as modern, the classification examines when the name reached its peak and how much of its lifetime volume occurred recently.

A name qualifies when its historical peak occurs in 2020 or later and more than 60% of its total recorded lifetime volume falls within 2021–2025. These conditions identify names whose statistical history is weighted toward recent years rather than names that merely remain popular after a much older period of use.
