I'm Welsh (born and raised in Wales and can speak Welsh) and I can confirm that Megan is the correct and true spelling of this Welsh name. Our alphabet is phonetic and none of these other stupid spellings (e.g. Meaghan) would make any bloody sense.
The other spellings do seem veryAmericanizedonly to be ignorantly labelled as Welsh/Irish etc. just because of the way they look. Research the phonics of celtic languages.
