Though it sounds plain at first, I honestly feel like it grows on you. It's not complicated, in its own way it has a nice ring to it, and it isn't overly used. The name Jillian/Gillian would give the named person more options when they're older if they don't like "Jill", which I think whoever is naming the child should consider.
