  • Adding to this section nearly 3 years later... The only person I have ever actually known with the name Emerald is a boy, ironically enough. To be honest? I thought it was kinda odd at first but it's growing on me. It has this weirdly soothing, cool, and unusual vibe on a boy while being weird and quirky in a nice way. After all if we have names for girls we would consider more masculine, why not a boy? For a girl it's nice enough and we're in May, which is has Emerald as its birthstone! I still prefer Esmeralda for a girl, but as a name it's decent enough.
