Meaning Comments
- Demonsp1r1t: Don't name your kid after God in any language. Your kid is not God, and you definitely aren't either.
- Bio_l5gt7_kg: Why is everyone being so rude? NO ONE IS TELLING ANYONE TO NAME THEIR CHILD THIS! It literally means god. No one is naming their kid God, but that doesn't make it a bad name. Just because it's not suited to a child doesn't make it a bad name. Also, the "Islamic" god is the god of Abraham, the same one worshipped by Christians and Jews.
- Ilovebryce23: These comments are so rude...Allah is a great name, and you people need to get your priorities straight because every name is wonderful in its own way.

Arab Christians (such as myself) and Maltese use this term for God also.

No one would name their son Allah, or daughter. This site just tells you what it means. Allah is respected, and you would not name your child God.

I'm curious to know the exact pronunciation and where the stress falls in this name. Here, everyone says al-luh (like the first two syllables of Alabama). Or, in a few better cases, it's said as ah-luh. But something tells me that those pronunciations are very, very Americanized. Somewhere, I've heard it pronounced as "ahl-LAH", with the "ahl" being very brief. That's how I'd like to think it's pronounced, but I know very little about the Arabic languages, unfortunately.
