  • So the proper pronunciation of Maeve is Mae uh vvvv (long v sound) That’s from the original Irish pronunciation of the name from its original Gaelic language. I grew up in Ireland, my cousin’s name is Maeve and my daughter’s name is also. A lot of Americans pronouncing it Mave like Wave. I guess it’s fine when you say it fast but it’s really not a one syllable name in it’s original form.
