The French spelling of this name (as well as ones like Adrienne, Vivienne, etc.) makes me pronounce them the French way in my head when I see them, or at the very least the way they come out phonetically in English. (Carole would roughly rhyme with parole, not roughly rhyme with Barrel.)
I personally wouldn't use these spellings if not intending to have them pronounced as written.
