This is my name and I've loved it growing up (in England). It's unusual enough that I was the only one at school (and now at work), but familiar sounding enough and written in a way that everyone knows how to pronounce it.
I agree with other comments that it provides lots of options for nicknames, although I've always just gone by my name in full... Bethan. Interestingly, people never really shorten my name to Beth either, in a way that I know happens to people called Elizabeth/ Bethany.
