I'm sorry, but this is one of the surnames used as a first name that I cannot stand. Lindsay, Garrett, Alden, Blake and Cole are all examples of surnames that, in my opinion, work as first names, but anything starting with aMcorMacjust doesn't sound like a first name for anyone. The "Mc" part refers to someone being the son of, and then the name of the bearer's father, making it just very obviously meant to be a surname and unusable as a first name. Where I live, a large portion of the population has thosemcormacsurnames, like McKenna, MacDonald, McKenzie, McDougal, MacKay, McGregor, ect. It sounds unnatural as a first name. Would you name your kid McDonald?

So trendy that I very much dislike it now. I saw a little girl saddled with the spelling "M'kenlee" today. I feel sorry for her for that reason alone.

This isn’t that bad, to be honest.
