An OG 03 Mason here. I don’t know who you losers are commenting Mason isn’t a great name for guys. I created an account just to tell you all who are considering it otherwise.
Honestly I’ve had a great 19 years with my name. 5 out of 5 stars would recommend naming your son Mason. I can tell you from experience, your son will flourish academically, socially, athletically, and with various talents. I can’t say for any daughter Masons, but I’m sure it’s similar.
If you are worried about associations with Freemasons, I have yet to encounter a situation like that other than bragging to my brother that I have my own secret society. I proudly drink out of my Mason Jars.
It is a well balanced name that doesn’t come off too cocky or tacky, but isn’t too abstract.
Clearly the people who are hating on the name either are envious that it isn’t their name, or didn’t think to name their child it and now feel stupid.
I love my name and your child will too.Visage_1671
Mason, Mayson, etc. are indeed also used for females, though this is mostly only of recent years, and this name is still much more common for males. So, I think that the gender of these names should be changed from "Masculine" to "Masculine & Feminine".
