  • I’m a Kurt. We have a very German last name and my parents chose all very German first names for all the kids. I like that it’s not common and created cool initials for me - KAL. When I visit Germany I fit right in and the German relatives seem to relate to me better! And in Germany it definitely has its own pronunciation with a rolled R. I do wish it had ümlauts but that messes with the proper pronunciation in English or German.
