I like this spelling a lot more than Gaynor (never really been a fan of names withyfor whatever reason)
Despite this, it's strictly for a character in my case. Not because it might be pronounced/misheard as "haha gay" but more or less that it might be hard to have this fit someone.

Well, the pronunciation of this name would probabaly lead to teasing and worse for two reasons, the first being that in this world of heterosexist tyranny, any name with'gay'in it will lead to all sorts of ridiculing, as that is the word people have just so happened to choose to describe things they think suck. At least this is true of 13-year-olds and people on the level of 13-year-olds. The second reason is Gloria Gaynor's ghastly I Will Survive, which just happens to be considered a gay anthem, which is too bad, because the song is one of the most annoying, overplayed karaoke hell tracks ever. Eleanor or Gabrielle would be better choices, needless to say.
