This name derives from the Slavic “*vetye- sláva > Vecheslavu / Vyacheslav (Вечеславъ)”, meaning “having greater glory”.

1) Wenceslaus I was the Duke of Bohemia from 921 until his assassination in 935, purportedly in a plot by his brother, Boleslav the Cruel.
