As a Staci that is reaching a mature age, I find that my name sounds childish. I have no option to change it, for example a person named Matt may decide to go by Matthew once reaching a mature age. I don't have that option, my name is just short and doesn't stand for anything. The only recourse I may have is to begin having family and friends refer to me as my middle name which sounds much more refined. I've always wished my parents would have used my middle name instead.
