I actually really love this name, it’s rare here in the UK, meeting someone named Ferne would be refreshing.
I like nature names but a lot of them can sound too wishy washy, Daisy and Clover for example (just my opinion of course). Either that or they’re extremely overused like Rosie, Lily and Holly.
I think Fern has a sort of strong and intelligent feel to it. Much prefer the spelling ‘Fern’ over Ferne. Less fussy.
