My son is called Euan. He’ll be 2 next week. My husband is Welsh and our daughter has a Welsh name. I therefore argued for the Scottish rather than the Welsh form of this name (Iwan), in order to reflect my Scots-Irish heritage. It so suits him. We shorten it to Euie sometimes, and he calls himself Wuh-wie.

This is a fantastic name, but I think the spelling Ewan looks much better. I'm not sure why I love the name, it just sounds great. I don't quite know why it sounds great to me either, but it just does. Sophisticated and intelligent, like the name of someone sane in this world of idiocy.

This is one of my favourite male names. It's my brother's name, and I like this spelling the best - instead ofEwenorEwan'. I think thewlooks ugly. I pronounce it U-un, but I've also heard U-in, U-en and U-an. Just depends on your accent, I guess.
