This is really more of a surname than a given (first) name, but it isn't bad for a boy's first name I guess. Although I kind of agree with the comments about leaving surnames as surnames. BENT in the US doesn't have the same meaning as the UK. So Benton or Bentley wouldn't have negative (dishonest) connotations here.
