Personal Meanings of the Name Tiger

  • Well, my name is Tigran and in Armenia it is known to have a Persian origin. I suppose it has something to do with Tiger. What's more, there have been some kings who ruled before Christ who had the same name; one of them was known to be Tigran The Great who was in power from 95-55 BC.

  • I looove this name. I think out of all the animal names such as Fox, Wolf etc Tiger is the best and most wearable since they can go by Tai as they age.
I definitely think it’s usable nowadays but maybe not years ago. With names like Wolf and Forest trending I can see Tiger fitting in perfectly. I’ve met one Tiger and one Tigerlily, both who wore their names very well and liked their names.
I do think the hate is undeserved but understandable as it’s a unique name.

  • Tiger is my cat's name, because he has the Tiger pattern on his fur. His middle name is Oliver. I've had him since I was 8. If you name your child this, it might as well just dress up as a furry everyday so it won't get bullied (well, it still will, but shhh).
Just my two cents on it. Do as you please, I guess. But don't have a shocked look on your face when your child comes home crying on the first day of school because everyone made fun of him. Eek!
