Name's Tanor, but the pronunciation is similar to Tanner, but slightly different. "Tah-ner" instead of "Tan""ner". The n isn't as sustained. The meaning and origin is different as well. My name gets compared to this one a lot, or thought to be derived from it. It's actually derived from Tanwir, which is completely different to Tanner, but I guess they rhyme in English.

I’m a 26 y/o woman and I am named Tanner. Kids never made fun of it or thought of it as a “boy's name” although that is all made up anyway. If anything, it is uncommon enough that kids just assumed it was a “girl's name” and when a boy with that name came to our school everyone asked him why he had a girl's name lol. It’s grown on me. I quite like it and get a lot of compliments on if. I didn’t like it when I was in middle school but the older I get the more I feel it suits me and I wouldn’t have it any other way :-)
