This name derives from the Germanic and Old Norse name “Sigifrid and Sigríðr”, composed of two elements: “*seʒiz / sigis” (victory) plus “*friþuz” (peace, tranquility, friendship).
In turn, the name means “powerful silence, peaceful victory”.Sigurd (Old Norse: Sigurðr) is a legendary hero of Norse mythology, as well as the central character in the Völsunga saga.
