This name derives from the Ancient Greek “Lúsandros (Λῠìσᾰνδρος)”, composed of two elements: “lúō (λύω) -sis (-σις) lýsis (λύσις)” (loosing, releasing, ransoming) plus “anḗr (ἀνήρ) andrós (ἀνδρός)” (man ‘adult male,’ husband).
