This name derives from the Old Slavic “Dragomir (Драгомир)”, composed of two elements: “*dorg” (Доргъ) drag / drȃg (драг / дра̑г)”, meaning “dear, precious, much beloved” plus “*mir” (*mirъ) mir (мир)”, meaning “peace, calm, tranquility, universe, world”.
