Ugh not these types of hillbilly names that makes my heart rot seriously, this one is ugly as a molded pear, sickening.

Why should a name with such a beautiful sound have such a ridiculous meaning? No disrespect to bald people, but that meaning is completely irrelevant in the world of names, and being bald, or even not being bald, is not something to brag about or be proud of.

I love the name Calvin! I think it sounds sophisticated while “Cal” is a really sweet nickname. Calvin Coolidge was one of the best US presidents, residing over the Roaring 20s, an incredible era in American history. Cal Ripken Jr was also an incredible baseball player. This is an all-American great name! I hear a lot of people referencing John Calvin- but his name is JOHN, not Calvin, so that’s irrelevant. Also, regarding the meaning, how many people are looking up the meaning of other people’s names? And as someone mentioned in an earlier comment, the name actually dates back to Sumerian language which is the ORIGINAL meaning, and it means highly esteemed/valued. I think if you disregard any French aspects of this name (which aren’t even relevant), it’s really such a lovey name. I would happily name my child Calvin if I had a boy, and I would feel great to give him such a wonderful name!
