User-Submitted Information about Aletha

  • My great grandmother born in the 1890's in Hartlepool UK had this name! In each census it is spelt differently- Alethea, Eletha and Elothe! Her other Christian name was also never spelt the same way twice but family history has it as Bella-Paranda after the name of a ship! No one knows why. I do not know where the name Aletha came from in our family but the family seems rooted in the north east of England. If I find out more I'll post it!
